WHO WE ARE

We are Veterans, Spouses of Veterans, non-military Community Members, and Contributors who value the sacrifice of our Veterans (whether it be blood, sweat, or tears) and want to honor their service to our country in service to them.  We are all Volunteers.  We pay no dues, no fees, have no national governing body.  Instead, we take care of our Veterans, their widows, and their orphans in Western North Carolina (WNC)/North Georgia (NGA) whether a project we do by ourselves or partner with another organization to accomplish the mission.

We are a not-for-profit 501c-3 completely funded by donations.  100% of donated money goes directly to our Veterans of WNC/NGA.  Our focus is on Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Swain Counties of NC and Union and Towns Counties in Georgia.

Again, we are all Volunteers, receive no salaries, collect no dues, send no dollars to a headquarters in Washington.  All raised moneys go straight to our local Veterans.  We are assisted by two well qualified local VA Representatives and a Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Coordinator.

We assist Veterans:

When many of us joined WVO, we were amazed at the need.  We assist Veterans with many services including but not limited to - appliances, camaraderie, mobility assistance, travel, counseling, burial expenses, home retrofits, etc. We have taken our military training and are now applying it where it is critically needed; assisting our fellow brothers and sisters that served and the local community.

Strict protocols are adhered to before any decisions are made regarding all Veteran assistance. We are guided by several well qualified individuals in our organization familiar with common practices for non-profits.

Are you a Veteran, Widow, Orphan? We want to help you.
